Urugami combines the lightness of paper with the soft touch of wool. A twisted paper core is wrapped in fluffy wool. The mixture of these materials produces a smooth yarn with clear stitch definition. The “grip” and drape of the knitted fabric is peculiar and unique. Urugami, like other Japanese paper yarns, is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. 40 grams / 262 yards / 72% wool, 28% paper / 30 sts = 4” on US 2½ (3 mm) / hand wash / lay flat to dry / spun in Japan.
